Specialists from the Discovery Research Group counted that there are over 4,5 hotels and almost the same quantity of the specialized accommodation with a capacity of 445 rooms. The Statistics of the State Statistics Committee of Russia show a quantity of 3873 acting hotels in our country. The Ministry for Economic Development and Trade  of the Russian Federation declined that the number of hotels in Russia is 247 objects  in 2004, at the same time in 2003 their number dropped by only 45. The Statistics declare  that during 2005 the tendency of reducing the number operating hotels will continue.

If one French room accounts 100 foreign visitors, Russian ones have only 50. On average, accommodation in Russian hotels are boored by 40% per year. Statistics show that in 2004 the capacity of the Russian accommodation market for hotel service remained by 12 billion $ from those 3,2 billion $ were located on the use of Moscow.

In 2004, the National Statistics Agency counted the number of 5-stars hotels in Russia, decreased from 23 to 18. At the same time eight 5-stars hotels are seeing built in Moscow at that moment. For sure, the hotel service market in Moscow and Saint Petersburg has a great influence the whole hotel sphere of Russia. For the last years some movements in the reduction of the capitals share in a common branch balance has appeared.

When in 1999 Moscows and Saint Petersburgs hotels have generated more then 80% of the profit, then in 2002 it had been almost 70%. We counted that nowadays the joint profits of Moscows and Saint Petersburgs hotels do not reach nearly 50% of the total market share.
The process of deconcentration takes place from a reanimation of the hotel service market of other regions. To number of such a highly-developed regions we could, for example, state the city-resort Sochi, which has a great investment potential regarding capitals, and other cities-millionaires such as Ekaterinburg.
